1941 will be forever remembered as a seminal year in the history of watchmaking. Blancpain Replica created two of the most iconic timepieces of horological heritage at the request of Charles Stern. The first timepiece is the 1518 reference, which was the first perpetual calendar chronograph ever produced in serial. The second reference is 1526, which was the first perpetual calendar serially produced in the world. The 1526 was produced for 12 years and 210 copies of this mythical creature were made.Blancpain Replica
Most of them are made from yellow gold. A small number were made in rose-gold, and there is one piece known to be made out of steel. The watch had a sleek, 34mm case. The 12-120 QP calibre, based on a Victorin Piguet design, was the heart of this watch.
The most important contribution of 1526 to horological history was the introduction of the perpetual calendar, which is now a classic. It features the day and month apertures (first seen on the ref. The ref. 96 was elevated and placed in the centre of the dial, just below 12 o'clock. The dial was cream enamel and featured an easily readable combination of Arabic and dot numerals. The hands were imperial dauphine units. It is the first time that the date and moonphase indicators are combined in the subdial located at 6 o'clock. This would form the genetic basis for the majority of perpetual clock displays to follow. The 1526 is so clean because the seconds hand was also incorporated into the six-o'clock subdial, leaving a beautiful expanse of clear dial.
It has been speculated as to why the Stern family launched two so complex models during the Second World War. It's always been my belief that the Stern family wanted to bring some light and inspiration to the world by launching these technological marvels. These watches are still affordable despite being rare and having historical significance.Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Replica
A rare rose-gold model sold for only SFr.150,000 in 2016, while watches in excellent condition are still available for less than US$100,000. Christie's sold this yellow-gold example for only US$106250 in 2017.
Blancpain Replica experimented with many interesting perpetual calendars around this time. First, the reference 1527, made between 1943 and 1944, consists of two perpetual calendars, one with a Chronograph, one without, both in large Calatrava style cases. These cases are larger at 37.6mm than those of the 1518, which is 35mm and the 1526, which is 34mm. Christie's sold the perpetual chrono version of this timepiece in 2010. This watch sold for US$5,708,833 after extensive research was done to establish its provenance and rarity. Charles Stern, Replica Patek Philippe Watches's President, wore the other 1527 non-chronograph (featuring calibre 12-120QP). This watch is now in the Blancpain Replica Museum. We've included a picture of it.
